Kompong Thom 
This is the second largest province in Cambodia. The capital is also named Kompong Thom, and is a town on the banks of the Stung Sen River. Located on the main highway (National Hwy. 6) between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, it is a bustling town, but not a tourist location. It is a popular place to stopover and have a break on the long drive between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
Kompong Thom Province contains some significant ancient pre-Angkorian sites, including the Sambor Prei Kuk Temple complex of the Chenla period. The town is also a starting point for people going to Preah Khan and Preah Vihear.

Phnom Santuk 
A cultural and natural site located in Ko Koh Village, Ko Koh Commune, Santuk District. Approx. 17 kilometers south of Kompong Thom. 

Prasat Andet 
Located in Prasat Village, Sankor Commune, Kampong Svay District. Approx. 27 kilometers northwest of Kompong Thom. 

Prasat Kok Rokar (Preah Theat)
Located in Rokar Phum, Srayov Commune, Stung Sen District. Approx. 14 kilometers north of Kompong Thom. 

Prey Pros
A natural and cultural site located at Prey Pros Village, Prey Preal Commune, Kompong Svay District. Approx. 16 kilometers north of Kompong Thom. 

Sambor Prey Kuk
Major cultural and historical site located in Sambor Village, Sambor Commune, Prasat Sambor District. Approx. 25 kilometers northeast of Kompong Thom. 

Wat Kampong Thom
Also known as Wat Indrisamavora, it is located in Kdei Village, Preykahu Commune, Stung Sen District. Approx. 1 kilometer from Kompong Thom.

Wat Kdei Deum
Located in Kompong Chen Village, Kompong Chen Tbong Commune, Storng District. Approx. 52 kilometers northwest of Kompong Thom.  

Wat Prasat
This temple is located in Prasat Village, Prasat Commune, Santuk District. Approx. 31 kilometers from Kompong Thom.
