Summary:
Discover the treasures of this charming, ancient capital city set in the mountains where time seems to stand still. You visit the National Museum (the former royal palace), and of course in this city of temples, you will see some of the best examples of classical Luang Prabang temple architecture.
From Mount Phousi you enjoy the view out over the city and river, and a great sunset.
A relaxing boat ride to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, and visits to ethnic villages is on tap for the next day, as well as a trip to the Kuang Si Waterfall in the forest. A stop at a 
weaving village, and a visit to Wat Siphouthabath rounds out the day.
Witnessing the early morning tranquil procession of monks in saffron robes carrying their alms bowls along the streets is a sight you will not soon forget.

Treasures of Luang Prabang – 03 Days
Itinerary Detail:
Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival
You will be met by our staff when your arrive in Luang Prabang, and escorted to your luxury hotel. After check-in and a short rest, we start our tour with a visit to the former royal palace that is now the National Museum. Here you learn about the history of Laos, and about Lao historical figures from ancient times to the modern revolutionary period. Luang Prabang is a city of temples, and you will visit some of the best examples, such as Wat Visoun, the city’s oldest temple, and Wat Xienthong, one of the best examples of classical Luang Prabang temple architecture.
Next, we climb the steps up Mount Phousi to see the sacred stupa perched on top, and to enjoy the view out over the city and river, and watch a beautiful sunset. Then we head back down to the city to explore the Night Market where you can hunt for bargains on locally made handicrafts. Dinner will be in a first-class restaurant.

Day 2: Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – Kuang Si Waterfall
After breakfast, we take a boat ride to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves with thousands of Buddha images of all shapes and sizes. On the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, famous for producing Lao Khao. This national drink of Laos is made from rice, and we see how it is made, and taste the product. We also visit the two Lao-Loum villages of Ban Chan and Ban Xiengmene.
Lunch will be at a famous Luang Prabang restaurant, and you should try some of the local specialties. On our way to Kuangsi Waterfall, there are stops at two more ethnic villages, Ban Na Oune, a Hmong village, and Ban Tha Pane, a small Khmu village. You will see how different these ethnic groups are in the style of their houses, their dress, and their beliefs and customs.
Then we arrive at the Kuang Si waterfall in peaceful green surroundings in a national biodiversity conservation area. You can swim in the cool, clear pools, and enjoy the forest scenery. By late afternoon, we return to Luang Prabang, stopping at the weaving village of Ban Xangkhong where we watch the weaving of intricate patterns on home looms. The final visit of the day is to Wat Siphouthabath to see Buddha’s footprints.

Day 3: Luang Prabang Departure
A visit to Luang Prabang would not be complete without seeing the daily early morning procession of monks in saffron colored robes carrying alms bowls walking silently along the streets where many Buddhist believers put offerings of food in the bowls. After breakfast, we head for the Morning Market to buy presents and souvenirs. There will free time for you to do some exploring of the city on your own until it is time to get ready for your departure transfer.
