Itinerary Brief:
Day 1: Hanoi - Pu Luong Reserve - Hang Village
Day 2: Hang Village - Kho Muong Village
Day 3: Kho Muong Village - Mount Pu Luong - Cao Hoong Village
Day 4: Cao Hoong Village - Trinh Village
Day 5: Trinh Village - Son Village
Day 6: Son Village - Hanoi
Summary:
In an area southwest of Hanoi, The Pu Luong Nature Reserve has incredible natural beauty, with thick forest, limestone formations, green rice terraces, and breathtaking panoramic scenery. 
It has a large amount of biodiversity, and the ethnic communities living there are culturally significant. On this trip you stay in picturesque villages with traditional home-stay accommodation, and experience the everyday life and traditions of the Tai and Muong people.
The trip starts with a trek to the Tai village of Hang where you spend your first home-stay in a traditional house. The next day it is a trek to the ethnic Muong village of Kho Muong for our next home-stay. On day 3, there is a full day of trekking to the summit of Mount Pu Luong where we see spectacular panoramic views. Then it is on to Cao Hoong Village where we experience staying in a traditional house.
For the next 2 days we continue our trek through the verdant green countryside, staying in the traditional villages of Trinh and Son. Then it is time to leave the reserve and end our travel back in time, and drive back to Hanoi to your hotel.

Challenging – These tours require many hours of hiking and trekking. They should be undertaken only by those who are physically fit and who have experience in trekking and hiking.
Pu Luong Nature Reserve Trekking & Homestay – 6 Days
Itinerary Detail:
Day 1: Hanoi - Pu Luong Reserve - Hang Village
After breakfast we leave Hanoi for the Pu Luong Natural Reserve, driving through scenic countryside past rice paddies and fields of tapioca and sugar cane. The drive takes around four hours. We have lunch at Ban Sai Village and then go on further into the reserve to begin our trek. We trek for approx. three hours before arriving at the ethnic Tai village of Hang. Here we overnight with a local family who host us in a traditional house on stilts, and during our stay we learn about their way of life, their culture and traditions.

Day 2: Hang Village - Kho Muong Village
In the morning we have breakfast, and then have some time to walk around the village before we start off on the next leg of our trek. Today, the walk will take about six hours, and along the way we come to several Tai villages before we get to the village of Kho Muong. This is an ethnic Muong village where we will spend the night in a traditional house.

Day 3: Kho Muong Village - Pu Luong Mountain - Cao Hoong Village
Today there is a full day of trekking to Mount Pu Luong. Our route takes us past several small villages and hamlets. When we reach Pu Luong Mountain, we climb to the summit, and are treated to spectacular panoramic views of the Pu Luong Reserve. Our ascent of the slope to the summit will take around eight hours, and then its another two hours to descend to Cao Hoong Village. Here we spend the night in a traditional house.

Day 4: Cao Hoong Village - Trinh Village
After breakfast, we get ready to continue our trek. Today we hike for around five hours through verdant green countryside, and along our route we see people cultivating their fields, herding buffalo, and going about their daily lives. In the afternoon we arrive at the traditional village of Trinh where we will spend the night with our home-stay family.

Day 5: Trinh Village - Son Village
In the morning we leave Trinh Village and trek for about six hours to our next home stay in Son Village. This village is located higher on the slope of the mountain, and has a somewhat cooler climate.

Day 6: Son Village - Hanoi
Today after breakfast we say goodbye to our host family. We leave Son Village and walk for approx. three hours passing through several villages along the way to our rendezvous point where our vehicle will be waiting. We then drive back to Hanoi to your hotel.
