Summary:
Starting in Hanoi, you take a tour of the city, then on to the village of Dong Trieu for a rural village home-stay experience. A deluxe overnight cruise takes you through the amazing limestone islands in the emerald-green waters of Halong Bay. You also travel through beautiful limestone caves, go swimming and kayaking, and have gourmet meals while gliding along an incredibility beautiful landscape.
Tam Coc in the Red River Delta is a land of awe-inspiring limestone formations soaring a
hundred meters above the land to form a remarkable landscape. Here you glide by boat through huge caverns under huge limestone mountains. Then back to Hanoi to take the night train to Quang Binh.
From Quang Binh you visit the Phong Nha Caves which were shaped by the Chai River, and the world's longest underground river flows through this cave system. You also visit The Vinh Moc tunnel complex used during the Vietnam War.
The ancient imperial walled city of Hue was heavily damaged in the war, but the Forbidden Purple City, the royal tombs, and many temples are still there for you to explore. You also take a boat ride to the Thien Mu Pagoda, and the tombs of King Tu Duc and King Khai Dinh. .jpg)
Hoi An, a once a flourishing trading port, is a picturesque riverside town, with many old traditional buildings and quaint riverside buildings, it is a photographer’s delight.
You have a free day to explore the sights of Hoi An, go shopping in the many handicraft shops, and go to the nearby beautiful beach. You also travel to My Son, the site of the ruins of the capital of the Cham civilization from the 4th to the 12th centuries.
Then it is time for your adventure to come to an end, and you transfer to Da Nang for your flight to either Saigon or Hanoi.

Itinerary Detail:
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon your arrival in Hanoi you will be welcomed by our professional staff and taken to your hotel in air-conditioned transport. After checking, in there will be a short briefing about your travel in Vietnam, and then we will enjoy a special welcome dinner at a deluxe Vietnamese restaurant.
Overnight in Hanoi hotel. Dinner included.
Day 2: Hanoi – Dong Trieu (Home-stay)
In the morning after breakfast we take a short tour of Hanoi, and see the Ho Chi Minh Complex and the Temple of Literature. Lunch will be the Hanoi specialty of "bun cha", a kind of noodle soup. Then, after lunch we drive to the village of Phu Lang which specializes in a distinctive style of Vietnamese ceramic, and then from there we continue on to the village of Dong Trieu, not far from Halong. We spend the night here in a comfortable home-stay.

After breakfast we go for a walk through the village where we see farmers cultivating rice, and children playing in the schoolyard, or in the shade of bamboo trees. Our minibus will pick us up, and we drive to Halong Bay where we will board a waiting cruise boat. We check into our deluxe cabin, and then cruise among amazing limestone islands emerging from emerald-green water. After a sumptuous lunch, we leave the boat to hike through a beautiful limestone cavern. For the rest of the day we can go swimming, or kayaking, and by night we marvel at the thousands of stars in the sky above this incredibility beautiful landscape. We spend a restful night on board.

Day 4: Halong Bay - Ninh Binh/Tam Coc - Hanoi
Today we have a half day of fantastic cruising in the morning with a deluxe breakfast and lunch served onboard, and your Halong Bay cruise will come to an end after lunch. We drive by minibus to Tam Coc in the Red River Delta near Ninh Binh.
Tam Coc is often called "Halong Bay on Land", and it is a place of awe-inspiring limestone formations soaring a hundred meters into the sky above the
river flats to form a remarkable landscape. The name Tam Coc means Three Caves, and refers to the three huge caverns you glide through by boat, under huge limestone mountains. Along the way, you see life in rural Vietnam below huge karst formations. After our tour of Tam Coc, we will drive back to Hanoi to take the night train to Quang Binh.

Day 5: Hanoi - Quang Binh – Phong Nha Cave
You arrive early morning in Quang Binh, and then transfer to a restaurant for breakfast. After that we travel west to the World Heritage Site of the Phong Nha Caves. These caves are also called Troc Caves, and are in
the limestone cliffs of Ke Bang in Quang Ninh province, 50 km northwest of Dong Hoi, and were shaped by the Chai River. The world's longest underground river flows through the Phong Nha cave system, and entering the cave is somewhat mysterious because of strange noises in the cave. Some of these caves were used by the North Vietnamese to store arms. In the afternoon we return to Quang Binh.

Day 6: Quang Binh - Hue
After breakfast, from Quang Binh, we drive through the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that once separated North Vietnam from South Vietnam. The Vinh Moc tunnel complex with more than 60 tunnels, and the Vinh Thach Commune are in the DMZ located north of the Ben Hai River. We visit the Vinh Moc tunnel complex, an underground village with 3 floors, which has been preserved as it was during the war. We also visit the Hien Luong Bridge, which was the border crossing between North and South
Vietnam, we then visit the La Vang Church. We arrive in Hue in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Hue
The walled city of Hue is an ancient cultural centre, and it was the imperial capital of Vietnam. Unfortunately, it was a key target of the North Vietnamese during the Tet Offensive, and Hue suffered extensive damage in the fighting. However, the rich heritage of this cultural site remains; for example, the Forbidden Purple City, the royal tombs, and many temples. In the morning, after breakfast, we tour the inner sanctuary with its wide expanse of gardens, lakes and traditional buildings. Then we take a boat ride to Thien Mu Pagoda, and

cruise the Perfume River to the tombs of King Tu Duc and King Khai Dinh.

Day 8: Hue – Hoi An
In the morning we depart Hue for a drive to Hoi An. Along the way, we drive over the high pass of Hai Van with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding countryside.
Hoi An was once a flourishing trading port for southeast Asia, and in this picturesque riverside town, you can still see many centuries old traditional buildings, displaying the architectural influences of several

Asian cultures. With its many old houses and quaint riverside buildings, it is a photographer’s paradise.

Day 9: Hoi An – My Son
In the morning we travel inland to My Son, the site of ancient stone buildings which are the ruins of the capital of the Cham civilization. Dating from the 4th to the 12th centuries, Champa ruled much of central Vietnam. This site of architecturally unique remains is smaller than other ancient sites in Southeast Asia, and suffered damage from the bombing of the Vietnam

War. A short drive from My Son is the Thu Bon River where we board a sampan for the hour-long boat ride back to Hoi An.

Day 10: Hoi An Free Day
After breakfast in the hotel, you have the whole day to explore this picturesque town. You can take a walking tour of the old town, and see all the tourist sites such as the Fukien Assembly Hall, the old Tan Ky house, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and the Hoi An Museum. You can also go shopping at the many handicraft shops, and get out on your own to explore the

narrow streets and the river-front with its many small cafes and shops. You can also go to the nearby beautiful beach.

Day 11: Hoi An – Da Nang (Domestic Flight)
In the morning we transfer to nearby Da Nang where you can catch a flight to either Saigon or Hanoi to connect with your departure flight, or for onward travel.
