Vietnam - Mountains to the Bay - 07 Days
Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Upon your arrival in Hanoi, you will be met by our professional staff and transferred to your deluxe hotel. After checking in, you will have free time to enjoy leisure activities. In the evening we will have an orientation meeting followed by a welcome dinner.
Overnight in Hanoi hotel. Dinner included.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Lao Cai
After breakfast in the hotel, we start around 8:00am for tour of the city. We will visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, the Temple of Literature, and other places of historical and cultural interest. At noon we stop for lunch at a first-class restaurant for fine Vietnamese cuisine. In the afternoon there will be free time to relax and to get ready for our night train trip. That evening we depart on the Victoria Train for Lao Cai.

Day 3: Lao Cai – Sapa
We arrive in Lao Cai City around early in the morning, and we will be met by a guide and driver who will take us to the town of Sapa. After early check-in at the hotel we have breakfast in the hotel restaurant. After that there will be free time to enjoy the rest of the morning. Our tour of Sapa will start in the afternoon with a visit to the H’mong village of Cat Cat in the Muong Hoa Valley. Visiting this beautiful valley and unique village, we have the opportunity to learn about the cultural and traditions of these people. After our visit to the village, we will head back to
the town and take a walk around the local market, and maybe even chat with some of the people there.

Day 4: Sapa – Hanoi
After a delicious breakfast in the hotel, today we return to the picturesque Muong Hoa Valley to see the Lao Chai and Ta Van villages inhabited by some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. When we will walk along the floor of the valley, we will see some of the most absolutely spectacular and stunning scenery you
can imagine. Back in Sapa we will have lunch in a local restaurant, and then relax back at the hotel. Later we meet our guide and drive back to Lao Cai. On the way back we visit Ta Phin Village, home to H'Mong and Dao people, who still retain their traditional customs and lifestyle. It is situated in a large valley and is surrounded by terraced rice fields where we see people working in the fields. The villagers will invite us to visit their homes to show us how they live, and tell us about their families so we can learn about their way of life. From Lao Cai we take the night train back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise
We arrive back in Hanoi early in the morning, and after arrival, we transfer to the hotel to relax and have breakfast. After breakfast we depart for Halong Bay driving through the lush green fields of the Red River Delta. We arrive at Halong Bay around lunch time, and we check in to our cabins on board the Emeraude, a luxurious replica river steamer. We are welcomed by the crew, and we get under way. The Emeraude cruises Halong
Bay passing some of the most scenic locations, including Yen Ngua, the Con Coc Mountains, and a floating fishing village. Our buffet lunch will be served in the ship’s restaurant. Weather permitting; we will also visit Sung Sot Cave (Surprising cave). In the afternoon we enjoy tea with pastries on the sun deck, or an aperitif in the restaurant before dinner.

Day 6: Halong Bay – Hanoi 
Today we arise early in the morning to join the Tai Chi class on board. The itinerary for today is to continue cruising the tranquil waters of Halong Bay. A European style buffet breakfast will be served in the morning for a leisurely breakfast. We will also have lunch on board, and we will reach the end of the cruise around 12 noon. We disembark at the Emeraude Pier where we will be met by our guide. Transport will be waiting to transfer you back to Hanoi, where we check back into the hotel. In the late afternoon there will be free time for you to enjoy leisure activities.

Day 7: Hanoi Departure
After breakfast, you have free time to relax and get ready for your departure transfer.
